ECU Australia’s token security authentication system is a highly successful and convenient option which uses a once-only number password as part of your login, to authorise certain eTeller activities and also to perform transactions.
We currently offer 2 types of token security, our e-Token device and SMS Token authentication. Our e-Token device works by generating a number password that expires every 30 seconds, our SMS Tokens work much similar but the number password is sent via an SMS message to your mobile phone.
Traditional authentication relies on ‘something you know’ such as a password. Adding ‘something you have’ such as token security protects you from the ever increasing online threats such as viruses and even identity theft. As the once-off number password you need to use is sent straight to your mobile phone or generated by your e-Token device, it is much more difficult for cyber criminals to even login to your account.
How to register
- eTeller users: when logged in to eTeller, select Security Settings from your left hand menu and then Register.
- Non-eTeller users: Phone us on 1800 383 791 or visit your local branch
