ECU Australia - everyone's credit union

ECU Australia spreads the Heart Message

Hearts Campaign

Credit unions and building societies across Australia are out talking to their local communities today about the fact that while the major banks are busy “breaking up with each other”, the mutual sector remains focused on its customers.

ECU Australia staff joined in the celebrations and were out and about the Cairns CBD today handing out free heart shaped chocolates and spreading the message. There is choice in banking and Australians are becoming more aware of the alternatives to the major banks.

“We’re telling people that while the banks are busy breaking up with each other, consumers should make the feeling mutual and switch their banking to somewhere that focuses on them and puts them first; like ECU Australia” said CEO Brett Myles.

Consumers are looking for alternatives to the big banks driven by a dislike of being taken for granted and excessive bank profits.  ECU Australia is a mutual, which means it isn’t run to make profits to pay shareholders like banks are. Instead, mutuals, as customer-owned institutions, put their profits back into better products, lower rates and fees, and great customer service.

“ECU Australia is proud to be part of the FNQ region, and have been part of this community for over 35 years,” said Brett Myles.
