ECU Australia - everyone's credit union

From The CEO's Office - January 2010

Brett Myles - CEO

Welcome to yet another New Year.  I can't believe it's already a year since I penned my first column as CEO.  The past year has been challenging thanks to the global economic conditions but it's also been extremely rewarding and interesting.  Together with my team, I now look forward to the challenges and successes of 2010.

Speaking of successes, I will briefly mention Member Surveys and thank everyone who made the effort to complete and return the survey.  We had more than 2000 forms returned at the time of writing, an outstanding response.  So far, although we're still reviewing the responses, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

However, be assured that where Members raise issues of concern or in which we need to improve, we will act.  For now, thanks to all those who made the effort to respond, we appreciate it.

Christmas in my household has become much more fun since we had children (and more nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws) but it's also become more expensive.  Some years ago, we opened a Christmas Saver Account with ECU Australia and it's been a lifesaver for us.  Naturally, we've had to increase the size of the fortnightly deposits since we opened the account ... but it's fantastic when December rolls around.  It takes the headache out of Christmas and I'd recommend it to any Member.

If you are in trouble with credit card debt from Christmas 2009, give us a call or drop into your nearest branch to inquire about a Personal Loan.  Our loans offer much more competitive interest rates than the average Credit Card so you can take out a loan to pay off your credit card ... then start the New Yea with one single lower monthly repayment.

Finally, we take fraud very seriously at ECU Australia, which is why we're spending about $70,000 to convert to new the cards.  Look out for yours when your card is up for renewal.

Until next time...

Brett
